Honeycomb won’t make its way to smartphones — that has been the official line from Google so far — but a newly leaked handset from HTC is making a claim for the opposite. The HTC Revolver recently appeared with a spec sheet boasting a 4.3-inch display, 16GB of flash memory, 1GB RAM, and a dual-core processor, but the real standout point is the mention of Android Honeycomb as the operating system.
The unusual “CONFIDENTIAL” stamped all over and the claim going completely opposite of what we have heard previously makes me skeptical, but I suppose even if Google doesn’t think Android 3.0 is prime for phones, they can’t really stop HTC from doing it anyway. Samsung did it with Android 2.2 and the Galaxy Tab, right? If this handset emerges as real it will be a pretty unique design among an HTC lineup that has recently conformed to a pretty standard unibody design as of late.
The possible Honeycomb smartphone is said to be on its way to AT&T at some point. Perhaps Honeycomb is just a placeholder and the phone is intended to launch with Ice Cream? It would be a lot more rewarding than the rather pedestrian lineup HTC unveiled this week at Mobile World Congress.

I’m still waiting for that sweet Pyramid (until the end of march, if not I’ll buy an S2 unfortunately).

Not sure of this one but one thing is true i am sure htc know’s that there fans here in the states were disappointed to a certain extent with there NON EXISTENCE at CES and there showing at MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS.. I know the current HTC INCREDIBLE fans have to be excited about the NEW INCREDIBLE S.. Now it is time for HTC to take care of the current HTC EVO 4G customers with a new release of the HTC EVO 2 4G on SPRINT as well as the NEW HTC PYRAMID slated for TMOBILE… All should be announced at CTIA IN MARCH some 40DAYS from now. So basically the BEST DEVICES FOR THE SUMMER OF 2011 SHOULD BE THE 1.Htc Evo 2 4g.. 2.Htc Pyramid.. and this rumored device the Htc Revolver.. HTC BETTER MAKE SURE THEY STEP THERE GAME UP AT CTIA US CURRENT EVO OWNERS ARE STARTING TO GET UPSET…
Seems to good to be true although not impossible, all we can do is wait and see. I honestly doubt they have a battery that can handle that hardware and keep a respectable life for daily use.
That is obviously fake. Look at those margins! If the screen is 4.3, with those margins…it would be as big as the streak! Then there’s this lil bit of info from Google that says NO HONEYCOMB FOR PHONES!
guess we’ll find out at CTIA. i will say that i’m sure HTC will drop some powerful devices then. they have to, right?
This is probably HTC just trying to keep people interested in what they may be releasing. Due to all the disappointing announcements they have made, they’re probably afraid a lot of their owners will buy something else soon.

This has been confirmed as FAKE from Android Central and various other Android sites. The image is obviously photo shopped.. this device wasn’t in HTC’s announcement of new devices either.
