Lenovo could unveil laptop with rollable display at CES 2025

The laptop’s form factor is something that hasn’t really changed over the years. Obviously there have been design changes made to the chassis, but the entire concept itself is still the same – a clamshell computer. But come CES 2025, Lenovo could really turn things on its head with a laptop with a rollable display.

This is according to a post on X by reliable tipster, Evan Blass. The tipster had some renders of what looks like a Lenovo laptop with a rollable display. This would allow users to extend the laptop’s display upwards for more viewing real estate. This is not the first time this Lenovo device was seen.

It was back at MWC 2023 where Lenovo showed off the concept laptop. We’re not sure what this new leak suggests. Maybe the company is ready to take it from concept to an actual product. The entire concept seems rather novel, but who knows, maybe there are people out there who could use such a laptop.

Lenovo is also not the first to come up with the idea. Several years ago, LG was this close to releasing a smartphone with a rollable display. This would have been LG’s alternate take on the foldable display made by its rival, Samsung. Unfortunately, the company called it quits on the smartphone business before it ever got to market.

Since then, we’ve seen other handset makers such as Motorola come up with rollable display smartphone concepts of their own. In fact, Samsung has also been rumored to be interested in getting their foot in the door.
