AI is coming to the Galaxy A-series, but there’s a catch

When Samsung’s Galaxy AI was first announced, it was only available to the Galaxy S24 series. Samsung eventually brought it to older flagships like the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S22 lineup. But what about the company’s mid-range phones? The good news is that Samsung could be bringing Galaxy AI to its Galaxy A lineup.

According to a report from SamMobile, they have heard from their sources that Samsung is working on bringing Galaxy AI to some Galaxy A-series phones. The update is expected to come in the form of OneUI 6.1.1 which could be released in the coming months. Before you get too excited, there is a catch.

The report suggests that while Galaxy AI will come to Samsung’s mid-range phones, not all the features could make the cut. This is possibly due to hardware limitations that could hinder the performance of the more advanced AI features. For example, the Galaxy S23 FE has Galaxy AI. Due to it being a slightly less powerful device, it lacks the Instant Slow-Mo feature that other Samsung flagships have.

Hopefully, the more useful AI features will make the cut, but we suppose it’s better than nothing. Also, it is unclear which Galaxy A phones are supported. Samsung released two new Galaxy A phones this year, so it’s safe to assume those are covered, but we’re not sure about last year’s models.
