We’re sure that many scoffed when Apple announced that they would ditch Intel and create their own Arm-powered chipsets that would be used in their computers. Fast forward a few years later and Apple has proved the naysayers wrong. If you’re not an Apple fan but want an Arm-based laptop, then the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge is now available for purchase.
If you’re hearing about this laptop for the first time, Samsung announced the Galaxy Book4 Edge back in May. This is one of the first few laptops that will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chipsets. This is basically Qualcomm’s answer to the Apple Silicon.
The laptop features a Dynamic AMOLED 2x display with a 120Hz refresh rate. In addition to the Snapdragon X Elite, it comes with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It has a host of ports including USB-C, USB-C, HDMI 2.1, microSD, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. As it is running on Windows 11, it will also come with Microsoft’s Copilot+ suite of AI tools.
One of the advantages of using Arm-based laptops is that battery life is generally better compared to more traditional x86-based computers. We’ve yet to test it out for ourselves, but if you’re interested, the Galaxy Book4 Edge is available for purchase from Samsung’s website.
