It is almost guaranteed that in 2024, Google will launch the Pixel 8a, a more affordable alternative to the upcoming Pixel 8 smartphones. Now thanks to a photo shared by Abhishek Yadav on X, we could have our first look at the upcoming device.
If you’re wondering why this phone looks familiar, it is because it looks like the Pixel 8a will draw inspiration from the Pixel 8, whose official images were teased by Google earlier this month ahead of its official reveal in October.

It looks like Google will be using the same color scheme, where the camera module will share a similar color to the rest of the phone, which in this case has a blue finish on both the chassis and camera module. It also appears that the edges of the phone are rounder than its predecessors, but apart from that, we’re not sure what else will be different.
A leak from August indicated that the Pixel 8a will be powered by the Tensor G3, similar to that of the Pixel 8, but presumably there will be some compromises with regards to its cameras or display in order for Google to reduce the price. Either way, it does feel a bit early to be talking about the phone, so take this leak with a grain of salt for now.
