Creative, a company known for their media products and mentioned earlier today for their upcoming Ziio tablet, looks to be coming out with a new PMP (Portable Media Player). Care to guess what she’ll be powered by? A very dirty look to anyone who says “a battery, durr” or “a cord, durr”.
From the picture she looks pretty enough; though I’ll defer total judgement until I see it from the side. Note the hardware buttons (mainly home) and their orientation, indicating that this device is meant to be used in landscape mode.
Some specs:
- 3.2″ screen
- Android 2.1 (dammit)
- Bluetooth 2.1
- 802.11b/g/n
- 2MP Camera
- GPS
- FM radio
- Resistive Touch Screen (double dammit)
Looks like she’ll be launching soon in both an 8 and 16GB flavor starting at S$279($216 for us Yanks).

if it can sync with itunes ill get it
Over Priced, under featured. Manufactures need to stop bringing crap to the market. Why does Apple succeed, they have a quality product, highly limited and restricted, but its designed and though out. I am looking forward to the Archos line.
I like Creative products. They have good support so they will probably upgrade the OS.
It’s not just powered by a battery, but by the electrochemical reaction that occurs between two metal plates inside the envelope and an electrolyte. The voltage differential is then available for use by the rest of the device until said reaction reaches a certain level of equilibrium at which point the battery is considered “dead”.
This will be based on the ZiiEgg project… I have been waiting for this to hit for a while. This thing will rock.
I’m still looking for a non-iPod PMP that actually fits more than an iPod (i.e. 160GB+)…
I’ve yet to find one though…
Its powered by electricity, durr.
Seriously looks cool. Like and ipod touch alternitive almost.
it was very riveting to deliver assign to phandroid.com
I want to bring in your register in my blog. It can?
And you et an account on Twitter?
Agreed with above poster. The archos 32 has HDMI output, and similar specs with a pricetag of $149 (undiscounted). Sears (of all places has sold the 32 for $129!). So the zen touch 2 has built in gps– the archos devices will be able to tether to gps (according to fan website) and play “USB HOST” as well.. unclear if Creative was smart enough to include usb host but did include a card slot. It’s just a matter of time before some manufacturer makes features with the best of both worlds.. HD radio, HDMI/ANALOG output, Card slot, GPS, 802.11bgn– in 3″ and 4″ formats.
