While Samsung’s Galaxy A73 is possibly the last of the “A7x” lineup from the South Korean electronics brand, the phone has nevertheless remained consistent in receiving regular software updates throughout the months. As such, a new update has finally arrived for handset, which features the latest January 2023 software patch.
The new update comes with software version number A736BXXS2BVL3, and is now available for users in Malaysia, with an expected rollout in more regions to follow. The new update brings some fixes for security and stability issues for the A73. Launched in 2022, the phone was one of Samsung’s many A-series handsets, which are meant to compete in the mid-range smartphone segment against phones like Google’s Pixel “A” smartphones.
More recently, it has been speculated however that the A73 might be the last phone in the A7x lineup, meaning that the A5x series will be promoted to top dog in Samsung’s midrange roster. Of course, there is no confirmation of this at the moment, which opens up many possibilities for an A74 model this year (or lack thereof).
