ASUS launches the ZenFone 8 in the U.S. with early-bird discount

Back in May, ASUS announced its 2021 flagship lineup (for non-gamers) with the ASUS ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip. But at the time, the release was limited to certain regions that did not include the U.S. Today, the company has announced that the ZenFone 8 is now available for purchase for those who want a compact flagship.

The ZenFone 8 sports a 5.92-inch FHD+ (2448 x 1080) AMOLED display, complete with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 888 paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. For battery life, there’s a 4,000mAh cell capable of being recharged from 0-60% in about 25 minutes.

In terms of the cameras, the ZenFone 8 sports a dual-camera system on the back, with a 64MP primary lens and a 12MP ultrawide camera. Then, there’s a basic 12MP selfie camera on the front thanks to the hole-punch cutout in the top left corner.

In a world where smartphones seem to be getting larger and heavier with every release, ASUS is taking a different approach. With its sub-6-inch display, this is one of the most compact smartphones that you can find. It’s lightweight and easy to use, making it one of the few devices that can actually be used with just one hand. The 4,000mAh battery may not really seem like much, but given the lower screen resolution (FHD+), it’s sure to get you through the day.

So how can you get your hands on the ZenFone 8? Well, all you have to do is head over to the ASUS website and purchase one. The device will retail for $629.99, but if you buy one between now and July 13th, you’ll save $30, knocking the price down to just $599.99. For the time being, it’s only available from ASUS at this price, but we’re expecting to see it come to Amazon eventually.
