Wondering what LG’s tentative plans are for 2015? An obvious expectation is to see an LG G5, but a rumor suggests LG could be looking to go a different route for other devices in their lineup.
One of the big revelations is that the LG G Flex line will not be continued in 2016. The LG G Flex originally hit the market as a high-end device which was damned hard to break or disfigure. It had a very prominent curvature, a self-healing back and a display said to be very hard to break.
Those things are all novel, but ultimately didn’t prove to be game changers (at least not in the same way that LG staples such as rear-placed buttons and LG KnockOn were).
That said, LG will continue at least one other high-end lineup in 2016, and that device would be the LG V10. The original — which launched earlier this year — was met with a very warm reception, and while there are reservations about the novelty of the secondary display its presence doesn’t do anything to take away from the overall phone. It doesn’t hurt that it also looks good and has very solid internals.
Of course, it’s still a bit too soon to know what LG is planning for any of their 2016 devices, though rumor has it they’ve caught the metal fever and will look to use it in order to enhance build quality.
