Anyway, geotagging has exploded in popularity over the past year and a half, now, with a bunch of social networking sites adding geotag features to their service (and some social networking sites have been created because of geotagging itself).
Qik is one such service that pairs up perfectly with geotagging. They’ve announced that their apps have been updated across all platforms to include the new feature – and that includes Android. It makes a lot of sense for Qik to implement this as I’m sure your friends – and stalkers – would love to know exactly where you’re broadcasting from. Whenever you begin broadcasting, it’ll now send out a tweet on Twitter with the usual link and Twitter’s built in location API will pick up on where you are.
It’s completely optional, of course, but if you do opt to use it then you have a few options to choose from. Do you travel frequently and want people to know what city you’re in? Do you want it to drill down to what street you are? Hell, why not just broadcast your exact location? Go ahead and try it out – you can find Qik in the Android market.
