App developers will want to get their hands on the latest collection of icons Google just open-sourced. Below is a download link to a pack of 750 different icons for use in apps, the mobile web and, well, whatever else you can think of. Many of the icons are featured throughout Android 5.0 Lollipop as part of Google’s Material Design makeover so your apps won’t look out of place when trying to keep up with the Joneses.
Here’s a quick list of what to expect from this huge pack of icons:
- SVG versions of all icons in both 24px and 48px flavours
- SVG and CSS sprites of all icons
- 1x, 2x icons targeted at the Web (PNG)
- 1x, 2x, 3x icons targeted at iOS (PNG)
- Hi-dpi versions of all icons (hdpi, mdpi, xhdpi, xxhdpi, xxxhdpi) (PNG)

Looking quite good to me. Be sure to give it a download and use them in your apps and websites as soon as you can, because it won’t be long before the first Android 5.0 devices hit the market.

I was going through and updating my app’s icons with these last week and I gotta say…these are pretty hideous

Yep. Cartoonish and ugly. They look like they’re intended for a preschool toy phone.
I love stuff like this. But this is the kind of stuff, when you download 10 sets of these to customize your phone, that eats into your 16gb and 32gb phone storage that have no expandable SD. And people wonder where the space goes.. into stuff like this.
Finally, Something pessimistic we can agree on. But goggle got in trouble for using SD card reading technology. That’s why some SD access was taken away from Kit Kat when it debuted.
SD cards and removable batteries are going away. And the disposable phone that lasts 2 years before not being able to hold a charge is the future. The nexus 6 will be my first phone that will have no SD card or removable battery. And it will SUCK.
SD write access was restricted in KK because before KK any app could read/write anywhere on the SD card, including overwriting another app’s files. It had nothing to with any lawsuit.
Who the hell sued Google successfully for SD card technology and why is it bad for the SD card tech patent holders? They should have just hammered out an agreement with Google and the OEM’s and they’d be getting royalties. We’d also benefit from having more devices with SD card support. The things patent holders sue others for and get in their cases these days…
I do believe it was Microsoft. As they own the patent to the FAT SD Card reading technology.So every android device that can read FAT MicroSD cards, M$ gets a cut from the sale of that device. No wonder Google and others are shying away from expandable media
Way odd topic. I know you can stream audio via bluetooth from google music play to a compatible receiver or what not. How can you stream ANY audio coming from phone ? Like a local radio app in my home bluetooth set ? Thanks sorry
Once you’ve connected phone to bluetooth device all your audio goes through that. If the Bluetooth device supports calls and such that audio will go through it also.
