Chrome Beta for Android is receiving a minor update to deal with performance and stability issues. Pegged as version number 25.0.1364.37, you shouldn’t notice any major changes or additions after moving to the latest software revision. Fixed for this release are iframe scrolling, issues with displaying the Chrome progress bar, and a myriad of smaller bugs.
The complete list of changes can be found at the Chrome Releases blog and the SVN revision blog. You can also find an account of known issues in the current build, which includes problems with updating the app icon after installation of the new version.
If you have Chrome for Android and are wondering where your update is, note that Chrome Beta is a separate app in the Google Play Store. To be privy to an early look at upcoming Chrome releases, you will want to Beta version of the browser.
where did you get the chrome Andy from??
probably just 30 seconds in photoshop / gimp, since both the high-res Andy and Chrome assets are available for use.
I’m not using the beta at the moment, but can anyone tell me if the address bar slides up like it did on the old stock browser on the galaxy nexus? If it does I’ll try out this beta.
You can install the Beta alongside Stable or stock if you want to just try it out.
No auto-hide nav bar yet :( I feel like that should be a must! come on Google you had it right in your original stock browser!
Another thing the stock had that chrome does not. “Read it later” functionality.
I really don’t know why they didn’t have it built in. That’s one of the only reasons I didn’t make it my primary browser yet
The beta is still much choppier than non-beta at basic scrolling. Until it passes the scroll test I can’t stand to use for more than 30 seconds (not even if it had a fullscreen mode feature)
Would you happen to be using a Qualcomm chipset? Its a lagtastical mess on Snapdragon phones, but works somewhat decently on Exynos devices and I think the Tegra 3 did rather okay.
Yeah. The US SGS3 variants all use the qualcomm S4 chips
What really sucks is, scrolling is damn near impossible on Tegra 2, but the webpages load as fast as lightning. I can’t enjoy it.
