We’ve finally made it to the finish line – Google recently announced that it was rolling out the fourth and final Android 15 beta update for developers and users enrolled in the beta program, which is just the last step before users worldwide get the stable Android 15 build on their devices. With that being said, there are some new updates with Beta 4 which are focused on ironing out some last-minute bugs on the next big version of Android.

As with some of the previous betas, the updates are geared more towards developers – one change is the removal of the legacy PNG-based emoji font, which means that some devices will support vector-based files moving forward. Android 15 is also expected to come with support for “Private spaces” for apps, allowing users to create a separate space on their phone to keep certain apps private, and predictive back animations within apps.
Android 15 is also expected to provide better uniformity between different apps for edge-to-edge displays, meaning that apps will extend past the navigation bar and camera cutout when active. There’s also “Low Light Boost” which is designed for improved user experience with low light camera previews and recordings, enabling apps to detect when they’re being recorded, and more.
It’s expected that Google will roll out the stable release for Android 15 alongside the arrival of the Pixel 9 series, which is rumored to include four different variants including the base model, two Pro versions, and a foldable.
