Paramount Plus to Raise Prices yet Again

0

Following other content streaming platforms such as Netflix and Spotify which recently raised subscription fees, it looks like Paramount Plus is the latest content provider to impose a price hike for users. The new prices take effect on August 20 this year.

More specifically, new subscribers will fall under the new pricing tier starting on the aforementioned date – this takes effect for Paramount Plus subscriptions both with and without ads. Paramount Plus Essential with ads will cost $8 per month (from $6), while ad-free Paramount Plus with Showtime will now be priced at $13 per month (from $12).

As for current subscribers for Paramount Plus with Showtime, the new prices will be reflected in their next billing date on or after Sept. 20. Paramount states that it is not increasing the annual price of Essential and Paramount Plus with Showtime for new or existing subscribers. Meanwhile, users currently on the legacy Limited Commercial plan will see a price rise by $1 to $8 per month.

Earlier on, other video streaming platforms including Peacock and Max likewise raised prices for 2024.
