It Looks like HMD is Working on a Budget Tablet

0

HMD has been quite busy over the past few years – after a couple of new phone launches (and even some rebranded devices), it looks like the Finnish company is looking to expand its line of Android devices into larger territory. More specifically, it’s rumored that HMD will soon be launching a budget tablet, according to recent leaks online.

A social media post shared by user @TechKard claims that the company is working on a tablet dubbed the “HMD Tab Lite,” which will come with an 8.7-inch display, a Unisoc T610 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, 5,500 mAh battery, as well as an 8MP main camera. It’s also predicted to launch with a price of €149, making it one of the cheapest Android tablets if true.

The post also shared an alleged product render of the device, which features slightly-thick bezels on the top and bottom, in addition to an overall design that doesn’t stray too much from other budget tablets on the market.

If the tablet does launch, this would technically be the second HMD-branded Android tablet on the market, as the company earlier rebranded the Nokia T21 tablet as the HMD T21. The change is in name only however, with everything else about the device remaining the same, design, specs and all.
