Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra could launch at a later date with a different name

Samsung is expected to host a new Galaxy Unpacked event this July. The event will most likely see the launch of new products. This includes foldables, earbuds, and wearables like the Galaxy Watch 7 series. But one item that could skip the event is the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra. Or as the reports suggests, the Galaxy Watch X.

According to a report from Tech Maniacs, they claim that the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra could launch with a new name, the Galaxy Watch X. They also claim that Samsung could pass on announcing the device at the Galaxy Unpacked event. Instead, Samsung might opt to announce the new smartwatch a couple of weeks later.

We’re not sure why Samsung is launching it separately. There is a chance the device isn’t quite ready yet. Alternatively, Samsung might feel that this is a device that’s big enough to warrant its own announcement. We’ve actually seen recent renders of the smartwatch that features a brand new design that looks pretty awesome.

Some of the possible new features include water resistance up to a depth of 100m, and a pretty insane battery life of 100 hours! For context, this is 20 hours more compared to the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. The Galaxy Watch X is also expected to be Samsung’s answer to the Apple Watch Ultra.

In any case, it is probably one of the more interesting and anticipated announcements from the company. Take it with a grain of salt but check back with us in the coming months for more updates.
