If you’re a smartphone gamer, then maybe you might want to consider a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 powered smartphone as your next device. This is according to a post on Weibo by Digital Chat Station who claims that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 could be great if you’re a smartphone gamer.

According to the post, it seems that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will see an upgrade in performance. This could result in games like Genshin Impact being able to run natively at 1080p resolution. At the moment, the game is capped at 720p due to the intensity of it. But if the post is accurate, the chipset will be powerful enough to allow the game to run at 1080p.

We’ve come across some reports in the past that suggests that the Gen 4 could be incredibly powerful. Leaked benchmarks have also suggested that it managed to edge out Apple’s latest chipset. Before you get too excited, note that some reports are questioning these benchmarks. Namely how much power the chipset is pulling to get those numbers.

We’ll definitely have to wait for the official announcement to get a better idea. Qualcomm confirms that the Gen 4 will be announced in October, so check back with us then for more updates.
