Samsung expands rollout of One UI 6.1 update

0

Earlier this month, Samsung officially released One UI 6.1 for its Galaxy S22 phones. The initial release was for the South Korean market, but now it looks like the company has expanded on the update’s availability to some European countries. We expect that it should eventually hit more markets in the near future.

As SamMobile notes, the update does not include the May 2024 patch. It does, however, come with the April 2024 security patch so that should still be good for now. This means that Samsung will probably release another update with the May 2024 security patch soon, so keep an eye out for that.

What makes the One UI 6.1 update so exciting is the fact that it brings Galaxy AI to the Galaxy S22 phones. Galaxy AI initially launched as a Galaxy S24 feature. Samsung eventually released it for the Galaxy S23 models, and some were wondering if Samsung could also bring it to older devices like the Galaxy S22.

The company confirmed that they were looking into it and the One UI 6.1 update basically confirms it. Galaxy S22 users should be able to expect a similar AI experience as Galaxy S23 and S24 users, so if you’re not planning on upgrading your phone anytime soon, then this could be a good way to give it a new lease on life.
