How to set a budget in the Google Play Store

The Google Play Store can now download two apps simultaneously

One of the annoying things about the Google Play Store is that it can only download apps one at a time. This means that if you’re trying to download multiple apps at once, you’ll have to wait for them to finish downloading one by one. According to a report from 9to5Google, that has changed.

It seems that Google has enabled the Play Store to download up to two apps at once simultaneously. This means that users can download two apps and have them download at the same time. This is currently limited to two apps. If you’re trying to download more, the third app will still be in a queue.

We did report on Google testing out the feature back in March. Now it looks like it has been enabled. This change makes the Play Store is more on par with Apple’s App Store. The App Store allows users to download and install up to three apps at once. We’re not sure why Google had previously limited it to one app at a time, but better late than never!

That being said, keep in mind that this only applies to app downloads. It does not work for app updates, which are still limited to one at a time. As 9to5Google notes, maybe Google is just starting small and will expand it to updates eventually. So, if you’re someone who downloads multiple apps at once, this is a nice quality of life update you can look forward to.
