Samsung will fix the Galaxy S23 fingerprint issues following One UI 6.1 update

0

The One UI 6.1 released by Samsung not too long ago was supposed to be a good thing. Unfortunately, many users reported a variety of issues. This includes charging speeds of their phones slowing down, touchscreen issues, and also how the update seems to have messed up the responsiveness of the fingerprint scanner of the Galaxy S23.

The good news is that Samsung is aware of the issue and that a fix is on its way. In a post on the Samsung Community forums in Korea, a company rep has acknowledged the issue and stated that a fix is on its way. They do not mention when we can expect the fix to be released, but at least they are aware of it.

“We apologize for any inconvenience caused when using the device.

We have confirmed that in some cases, fingerprint recognition on the lock screen does not work properly or a notification window appears.

We plan to release software that improves the problem, so please keep your phone up to date.

We apologize once again for the inconvenience caused, and please wait a little while for the software update.”

Hopefully the fix won’t take too long to be released. If you are a Galaxy S23 user that is experiencing problems with their fingerprint scanner after the One UI 6.1 update, then this is a fix you’ll want to keep an eye out for. Thankfully it’s not really a breaking bug, but we imagine that it can get quite annoying.
