Another day, another One UI 6.1 problem

0

Samsung recently rolled out the One UI 6.1 update for its phones. This introduces new features, bug fixes, security patches, and also the Galaxy AI suite of AI tools. Unfortunately, it seems that the update is causing more problems that we would like to see. Samsung Galaxy S23 owners are reporting that the update has caused issues with the fingerprint scanner on their phones.

According to the post on Reddit, it seems that the update is causing the fingerprint scanner to be slightly slower and less responsive than before. The post by u/Cyber_NinjaX21 reads:

“Is anyone experiencing problems with the fingerprint scanner on the S23 after updating to OneUI 6.1? Occasionally, when I take the phone out of my pocket, press the lock button (or double tap), and quickly try to use the fingerprint scanner, nothing happens initially. However, once I lift my finger, the fingerprint animation appears again, and then it works. It seems to be an intermittent issue.”

Other users have chimed in claiming to have experienced the same thing. It is unclear how widespread the problem is, but there are definitely users out there who have encountered similar problems. The update was also previously reported to have caused issues with charging speeds, where users are claiming that their phones now charge slower.

Hopefully Samsung is aware of this and are documenting all the issues and will issue a patch soon to address it.
