The Samsung Exynos 2500 could beat the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3…a year later

0

We know that some of you were disappointed that Samsung launched the Galaxy S24 series with a mix of Qualcomm and Exynos chipsets. We doubt that the practice will die anytime soon, but there could be some good news for Samsung’s 2025 flagships. A post on X by PandaFlash claims that the Samsung Exynos 2500 could beat the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in terms of performance.

This is good to hear, but we have to wonder if it might be too late. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is 2024’s flagship chipset for the majority of high-end phones this year. In 2024, we expect that in 2025, most flagship phones will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The post claims that the Exynos 2500 outperforms the Gen 3 in both CPU and GPU, but we have to wonder how it will hold up against the Gen 4.

Qualcomm recently confirmed that the Gen 4 will debut later this year. Leaked specs have suggested that the clock speeds of the chipset could hit 4.0GHz, so it is unclear how the Exynos 2500 will fare since details about the chipset are a bit scant at the moment.

Samsung will not only have to compete against Qualcomm, but they will also be going up against the likes of Apple’s A18 Pro and MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400. Hopefully Samsung will have an ace up their sleeves, but we’ll have to wait until 2025 to find out.
