It looks like the rumors were true – following a bit of speculation that Nintendo rescheduled an upcoming Direct Presentation to avoid coinciding with Microsoft’s big Xbox announcement a few days ago, the company itself has finally confirmed that a new Nintendo Direct is on the way.
Scheduled to go live via Nintendo’s official YouTube channels on Feburary 21, the upcoming Nintendo Direct will be a partner showcase, meaning that fans will be given new info on up-and-coming games, software, and more. The presentation is set for 6:00 AM PT/9:00 AM ET.
A new Direct showcase might be just what Nintendo needed, following a dramatic drop in company shares at the Tokyo Stock Exchange – a report from Bloomberg states that company shares tanked down to 8.8% on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, before settling on an overall value loss of 5.8%. This sudden drop is attributed to rumors of the Switch 2 being delayed to 2025, after initial reports suggested that the new console might be announced sometime this year.
In any case, Nintendo fans will have a lot to look forward to on February 21st, at least in terms of third-party Switch games.
