Motorola could have a new flagship phone in the works for 2024

0

The last time we saw a Motorola flagship phone, it was in 2023 with the Motorola Edge+. This suggests that Motorola is probably developing a new flagship for 2024, as “confirmed” in a Weibo post by tipster Smart Pikachu.

The company plans to launch this new handset in Q2 2024. This is in line with the 2023 Motorola Edge+ launch timeframe. The post does not mention which phone model will be launching, but it will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset under the hood. This means that in terms of performance, it will be a flagship level phone.

With companies like Samsung, Xiaomi, and OnePlus launching Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 smartphones, it makes sense that Motorola will be following suit with a flagship of their own. The post does not mention what other specs we can expect from the phone. If it is the successor to the 2023 Edge+, then we can probably look forward to something similar.

Note that the Edge+ was launched in other markets as the X40. This means that an X50 naming scheme could also be used in markets where the X40 was made available. Take this with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we’ll have more details in the coming months.
