TCL has made a name for themselves for creating affordable mobile devices. This year at CES, it’s not different. The company has taken the wraps off a bunch of new smartphones and tablets. This includes the new TCL 50 series of affordable smartphones, as well as new Android tablets that are powered by TCL’s NXTPAPER 3.0 display technology.

TCL NXTPAPER 14 Pro, TCL TAB 10 NXTPAPER 5G

Now, there are a lot of Android tablets out there so you might be wondering why you should pay TCL’s tablets any sort of attention.

One of the main selling points of TCL’s tablets is the use of the company’s NXTPAPER display technology. According to TCL, the new NXTPAPER 3.0 display has been created with eye-comfort in mind. It filters blue light and claims to offer a reading/viewing experience similar to paper.

For those who want to use their tablets mainly for reading ebooks, then this could be a good alternative to e-readers as it offers up more functionality.

There will be two new tablets that will be taking advantage of the new NXTPAPER 3.0 technology. This includes the NXTPAPER 14 Pro and the TCL TAB 10 NXTPAPER 5G.

With the TCL NXTPAPER 14 Pro, it features a massive 14-inch 2.8K display. It is also powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8020 chipset and comes with 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a massive 12,000mAh battery.

The TCL TAB 10 NXTPAPER 5G will be a smaller model with a 10.4-inch 2K display. It will use an unnamed octa-core chipset and supports 5G connectivity. Another selling point is that it is slim and light and will run Android 14 out of the box.

TCL 50 Series

In addition to their new NXTPAPER tablets, TCL has also taken the wraps off their brand new series of smartphones. This comes in the form of the TCL 50 series, the successor to the 40 series from 2023.

The TCL 50 series includes models like the TCL 50 XL 5G. This phone packs a 6.8-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also comes with built-in DTS speakers, 8GB of RAM, and NXTURBO. It also comes with a 5,010mAh battery.

There will also be the TCL 50 XE 5G. This phone comes with a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. There are dual built-in speakers, a 50MP triple camera setup, and 8GB of RAM. It also uses TCL’s NXTURBO technology and comes with a 5,010mAh battery.

Last but not least is the TCL 50 LE. It also features the use of a 6.6-inch HD+ 90Hz display with dual speakers. Its camera will be different from the TCL 50 XE 5G where there will be a 13MP camera, but it will also use TCL’s NXTURBO technology and packs a smaller 4,000mAh battery with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

Pricing was not mentioned but seeing as how the TCL 40 series were all offered at pretty budget-friendly prices, we expect the TCL 50 series to be the same.
