Apple Lands Top Spot in October 2023 Smartphone Sales Charts

Statistics firm Counterpoint Research recently published data on some of the best-selling smartphones around the world, and it looks like Apple’s market popularity hasn’t slowed down despite impressive competition from rival Android brands. For the US in particular, Apple was able to secure four of the top five spots in terms of sales, with an unlikely entry making its way in fifth place.

For October 2023, Apple’s new iPhone models were able to keep the company’s tight grip on the smartphone market. In North America, first place went the iPhone 15 Pro Max (with 24% marketshare), followed by the iPhone 15 Pro (16%), iPhone 15 (13%), the iPhone 14 (4%), and the Galaxy A14 5G (3%).

Interestingly enough, the majority of Samsung device sales still come from the company’s more affordable A-series handsets, which is somewhat unsurprising given that they are more accessible in terms of price and availability worldwide.

A while back, market data showed that in terms of worldwide smartphone sales, Samsung was still the best-selling brand – the company secured a fifth of total sales in Q3 2023 thanks to its popular A-series smartphones. Meanwhile, Apple came in second place with 16% market share, followed by Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo. Additionally, brands including Honor, Huawei, and Transsion Group gained considerable market share, resulting in YoY growth in Q3.
