Apple could finally hop on the AI bandwagon next year

0

Apple is usually kind of late to the party when it comes to smartphone features. The company isn’t the type to rush to the market with a new feature just because everyone is doing it, but it seems that Apple isn’t wasting any time when it comes to AI.

According to a report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, it seems that one of the main features that users can expect from the iPhone 16 next year is generative AI. The report claims that there might not be any major hardware changes, but instead the focus will be on software and AI will be one of them.

It is unclear what kind of AI features Apple is expected to bring to the table, but hopefully a massive revamp to Siri’s capabilities is in the cards. Siri has been notoriously bad compared to other digital assistants, and with companies like Google integrating more AI into Google Assistant, Siri is starting to feel like an outright relic.

Other companies like Samsung are also expected to introduce new AI features to its phones next year. So far, Google is pretty much leading the way when it comes to AI on smartphones, where the Pixel’s AI capabilities are honestly pretty awesome. Whether or not Apple’s AI efforts will be equally impressive or fall short of the mark remains to be seen.
