After launching the Sony Xperia 5 V with its Video Creator app, Sony recently announced that its new mobile video editing app will now be available for its premiere flagship, the Xperia 1 V as well. The app’s availability was made known through Sony’s official Instagram account. As per the post:
Xperia 5 V’s brand new Video Creator app is now available for Xperia 1 V! If you are a Xperia 1 V user, you can now download it from Google Play for free.
With that being said, it looks like the app is currently exclusive for 2023 Sony flagship devices, which does limit access to users hoping to try it out on their non-Sony or older Sony smartphones. The Video Creator app is free and lets users instantly create short videos for sharing with contacts or social media posts. The app includes different editing features, such as “Auto edit”, which comes with an automated video creation process with clips and music.
Recently, Sony also launched an app for select smartphones and Sony cameras that essentially allows users to use their device as a monitor for their camera during filming and such. One caveat is that the app only works with cameras like the Sony FX6, FX3, and FX30 cinema cameras, at least at the moment.
