Usually when companies release products like smartphone, tablets, or laptops, there are options users have when it comes to fixing them, whether through first or third-party repair services.
Unfortunately, if you happen to own a Pixel Watch and your screen cracks, there does not appear to be any recourse for it. This is according to posts on Reddit and Google’s own support forums in which owners of Pixel Watches are rudely discovering that Google will not officially repair the Pixel Watch.
According to a report from The Verge, they obtained the chat log of an official Google support chat between one of their readers and support staff, in which the Google rep told the customer that Google currently does not have repair or service centers that can fix their broken Pixel Watch’s display.
This was later confirmed by Google spokesperson Bridget Starkey who pointed to Google’s hardware warranty policy which states that the Limited Warranty does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, or neglect, which could be reasons why the watch’s screen could be cracked in the first place since we doubt it would just crack by itself.
So where does this leave Pixel Watch users? At the moment, the only recourse would be to simply buy a new one, either directly from Google, or maybe a secondhand model that might be cheaper.
Hopefully with all this coverage, Google might do something about it if they’re hoping to keep making Pixel Watches down the line.
