Meta and LG might team up to take on Apple’s Vision Pro

Due to Apple’s strong branding and almost cult-like following, the company has the ability to take products and features that have already existed and make them even more popular than they were before.

This is why there are some who believe that with Apple’s upcoming release of the Vision Pro headset, the company might be able to take the concept of mixed reality products and give it the boost it needs to become more mainstream.

This is why it doesn’t come as a surprise to learn that according to reports from Korea, Meta and LG are said to be working together to come up with a new product that could challenge the Vision Pro, with presumably LG supplying Meta with the necessary display technologies that would be used in the headset.

Now, Meta is no stranger to virtual reality headsets. The latest release we saw was back in 2020 with the Meta Quest 2 (formerly known as the Oculus Quest 2), but if this rumor is true, Meta might be leaning more towards augmented reality if they’re hoping to compete against the Vision Pro.

Meta and LG aren’t alone in their efforts either. Earlier this year, Samsung revealed that they would be working with Google on new “extended reality” devices, an announcement that was made ahead of Apple’s reveal of the Vision Pro headset.
