By now it’s no secret that OnePlus is planning to launch a foldable phone of their own, which many have dubbed as the OnePlus Fold (it could be called something else at launch), but no one knows when the device will be announced exactly.
For those who might be eager to get their hands on the device, it seems that August could be when the phone will be launched. This is according to a report from SmartPrix who cites a reliable tipster who told them that the phone’s launch could take place on the 29th of August, which is a little over a month from now.
The event is also rumored to take place in New York, so if that’s true, we expect that OnePlus will have more details to share soon. Also, it is possible that the event could be more than just about the OnePlus Fold and that OnePlus could use the event as an opportunity to also announce the OnePlus 12.
That being said regarding its name, tipster Max Jambor had posted last week that apparently the device could be known as the OnePlus Open based on patents that were discovered earlier. While we do like the OnePlus Fold moniker, we suppose the OnePlus Open does sound a bit more unique. Either way, take it with a grain of salt and hopefully we’ll have more updates to share soon.
