New Photos of the Pixel 8 Pro Leak Online; Specs Shown Onscreen

0

Google’s Pixel smartphones have never been safe from unofficial leaks and such, and it looks like the upcoming Pixel 8 Pro is destined to join this great tradition. A couple of hands-on photos of what is claimed to be a Pixel 8 Pro prototype have surfaced online, giving us a glimpse of Google’s next flagship handset.

Originally posted on Reddit, the photos show the front and back of the Pixel 8 Pro, which seems to confirm the design leaks that were shown a while back. This includes the familiar-looking camera window on the rear panel, and a flat display. The device doesn’t seem to be in any usable state however, as it might have been remotely wiped, although the boot screen gives us some hardware specifications, such as 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

In terms of additional hardware info, recent speculation claims that the Pixel 8 Pro is likely to launch with an upgrade in charging speeds from 23W to 27W, with a very minimal upgrade in battery capacity from 4,926mAh in the Pixel 7 Pro to 4,950mAh.

Other leaks also claim that the 8 Pro will come with a new thermometer feature, which will work by holding the device close to the user’s forehead, and moving it across to the temple to measure a user’s temperature. In any case, nothing is “official” unless it comes from Google, although we have to admit that these leaks give us a cheeky little sneak peek of what’s to come.
