Here’s what we know about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 so far

0

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be an upcoming foldable from Samsung. According to the rumors, one of the biggest changes we can expect is a larger external display, and now thanks to a tweet by tipster Yogesh Brar, more details of the upcoming handset have been revealed.

According to Brar, the Flip 5 is expected to sport a 6.7-inch main display with an FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This is pretty much the same display as its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The external display, however, has been bumped up from a 1.9-inch display to a 3.4-inch display.

We’ve already seen phones from Oppo and Motorola go the same route and we expect Samsung will probably introduce new software features that will take advantage of the larger screen.

Under the hood, the Flip 5 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and will come with 8GB of RAM, 128/256GB of storage (no microSD support, unfortunately), and a 3,700mAh battery, which once again is the same as its predecessor. This has us a bit worried because presumably a larger external display will take up more power, but hopefully the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be more energy efficient and offset it.

It will also sport a set of dual 12MP cameras on the back and it is rumored to be priced at $999. Samsung has confirmed that the next Unpacked event will take place in July, so we should have more details then.
