Recently, there was a rumor suggesting that Samsung could be bringing up the date of the launch for its Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 smartphones. This is apparently due to Google’s launch of the Pixel Fold that has Samsung a little worried.
Instead of a launch in August, the rumors suggested that we could see a launch in July instead. Now a report from Chosun Media has “confirmed” those dates and are claiming that Samsung will be hosting an Unpacked event on the 26th of July where both its new foldables are expected to be announced.
The report goes on to claim that unlike previous Unpacked events which took place in various parts of the world, this year’s Unpacked might only take place in Seoul, South Korea, the home base of Samsung. It also adds that the sales of both phones could take place a couple of weeks later on the 11th of August.
At the moment, the rumors of either handset have suggested that there will be minimal design changes made to the Fold 5. The major upgrades will go to the Flip 5 where we will be seeing a larger external display. Take this with a grain of salt, but if the July launch is true, we should have more details in the coming months.
