Motorola Edge 40 Pro launched with stunning 165Hz display

Motorola makes pretty solid mid-range phones, but if you’re after something that’s a bit more high-end, then you might be interested in checking out the company’s latest flagship handset, the Motorola Edge 40 Pro.

One of the main selling points of the handset would be its display. Most smartphone makers tend to equip their phones with 90-120Hz refresh rates, which is fine and it is totally good enough, but with the Edge 40 Pro, Motorola has gone above and beyond by sticking a 165Hz refresh rate on the phone’s 6.67-inch 1080×2400 display.

Would you be able to tell the difference between a 120Hz refresh rate versus a 165Hz refresh rate? Chances are most people can’t tell the difference, but obviously the higher the refresh rate, the smoother it will be, especially when it comes to scrolling through websites, playing games, and watching videos.

The phone, given that it is a 2023 flagship handset, will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. It will also be accompanied by 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.

On the camera side of things, we’re looking at a triple camera setup on the back that consists of a 50MP main, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 12MP telephoto, with a 60MP selfie on the front. The phone also comes with a 4,600mAh battery with support for 125W wired charging, 15W wireless, and 5W reverse wireless charging.

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro will be priced starting at €899.99 and is expected to be available in Europe in the coming days, but there is no mention of US availability just yet.
