Realme’s Upcoming Phone Mimics the iPhone’s Dynamic Island
It’s no secret that smartphone OEMs have been borrowing concepts from rival brands, in an effort to directly compete with each other, and even improve upon existing hardware features and concepts. As such, it looks like Realme’s upcoming C55 handset has taken a recently-introduced feature and integrated it into its own software.
To be more specific, the Realme C55 will come with its own version of Apple’s “Dynamic Island” feature, which was introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro series. Dynamic Island is Apple’s take on the hole punch cut-out seen on a myriad of Android phones, adding some interactive software functionality.
Realme calls its version the “Mini Capsule,” which turns the phone’s hole punch camera cut-out into a hub for notifications, and other device information. The phone can currently be viewed through Realme’s Indonesian webpage. As for other hardware specs, the Realme C55 features with a 6.72-inch display, a 5000 mAh battery, and dual-lens set-up on its rear camera.
This isn’t the first time that Realme has approached the idea of adopting Dynamic Island – several months back, the company announced a Creators’ Challenge, inciting creators to come up with potential ways that would leverage the front camera cutout on future Realme phones and modify it with additional software functions.
The Realme C55 is expected to launch on March 7.
