Pixel Fold Rumored to be Heavier than Galaxy Z Fold4
A while back, we got a pretty good look at how Google’s upcoming foldable device might look, thanks to a handful of 3D model renders that appeared online. As such, new rumors have emerged regarding Google’s Pixel fold, and it looks like the device will come with a considerable weight, as well as a larger battery capacity.
A report from the folks over at 9to5Google states that according to an online source, the yet-to-be-released device will be heavier than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold4, thanks to a large battery. A diagram below shows an approximation of the device’s size, and it looks like in terms of width, the device slots just in-between the OPPO Find N2 (green) and the Galaxy Z Fold4 (blue).
Additionally, the Pixel Fold will reportedly have a larger battery compared to competing devices, with the Find N2 at 4,520 mAh, and the Z Fold4 at 4,400 mAh. The Fold’s battery capacity will be closer to 5000 mAh, but not at the exact same capacity.
Other predicted specs of the device include Google’s first-party Tensor 2 chip, which powers several of Google’s Pixel smartphones, alongside a 50-megapixel periscope camera with multi-focal segments. It will also come with a Sony IMX787 sensor, and a ceramic chassis.
Of course, things are bound to change until we officially see an announcement from Google themselves – there were even rumors stating that the Fold will make its debut in 2022, but that has since been moved to a 2023 release date.
