The thing about smartphone leaks is that while nothing is certain, they often give us an insight into when a device will hit the market, as well as the hardware that comes packed into it. As such, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S23 has been the subject of several leaks, most of which revolve around its release date. With that said though, a new rumor hints to a much-earlier release date for the flagship handset.

An online post from tech informant Ice Universe hints to a February 1 launch date for the Galaxy S23 phones, which will be revealed through a Samsung Unpacked event. If correct, this would counter recent rumors that claim that the launch event will happen in mid to late February. Of course, nothing is official until Samsung says so, so we’ll have to wait and see if the company will soon give us a more “formal” hint of things to come.

Previously, Ice Universe also tipped that the phone will come with improved 30fps video recording for 8K resolution footage. Other rumored specs for the much-anticipated handsets include improved fingerprint sensors, as well as support for satellite connectivity, similar to Apple’s iPhone 14 series.

Whatever the case may be, it looks like the S23 devices could be some of Samsung’s best work yet.
