If you own the latest Fitbit Sense 2 or Versa 4 models, then you might want to update your wearable now – Fitbit has rolled out new software features for the devices, adding some nifty new functionality and software improvements.
The new software patch comes with version number 1.1.84.52, and is now available for the Versa 4 and Sense 2 smartwatches. In addition to the usual bug fixes and improvements, the update also includes the new Google Wallet tap-to-pay feature which was launched a few days ago, and users will now be able to use the built-in speaker and microphone on their watches to take calls. Furthermore, users can now turn off their screen when not in use by simply covering the watch with their hand.
Launched this year, the Fitbit Sense 2 and Versa 4 are the latest smartwatches from the Google-acquired tech brand, released around the same time as Google’s first-ever Wear OS smartwatch.
In other Fitbit-related news, users will soon be required to use a Google account to access Fitbit services and devices. The upcoming change was announced a while back, with support for existing Fitbit accounts continuing until early 2025, after which time a Google account will be needed to use Fitbit’s software and hardware features.
