As we get closer to the official launch of Honor’s 80 series devices, new details have emerged regarding the chipsets which will power the new phones, which are scheduled to be officially unveiled on November 23rd next week.
According to an online post on Chinese social networking site Weibo, the base model Honor 80 will come with a Series 7 chipset from Qualcomm, and while it still hasn’t been confirmed yet, it is highly expected that this might be the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G chipset.
Meanwhile, the Honor 80 Pro will come with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, which is unsurprising given the phone’s “Pro” model designation. Two other Honor phones – the Honor 80 SE and Honor 80 Pro Plus – are also expected to make their debut next week, the latter of which carries a 200-megapixel main camera. The Honor 80 series takes over for the Honor 70, which is competitively priced to take on other “budget flagship” smartphones like the Google Pixel 6 and 7, and Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, to name a few.
In relation to this, Qualcomm is currently hosting its annual summit in Hawaii, where several new products are expected to make their debut.
