Samsung Updates its Internet App, Adds New Features

0

Samsung’s frequent support for its hardware and software products is nothing short of timely, and the South Korean electronics giant has given a new update to its first-party internet app – Samsung Internet 19 is now available for download in several regions, and it comes with some new improvements.

The changelog for the update is as follows:

  • There’s a new “Privacy info” feature accessible on every website by clicking the URL bar lock icon.
  • Samsung Internet widget users can now check their recent search history from the improved widgets coming with version 19.0.1.2.
  • Add-ons are now available when using Samsung Internet in Secret Mode. To use this new feature, users will have to enable the “Allow in Secret Mode” option for each add-on individually.

Additionally, Samsung internet’s Smart Anti-Tracking will be able to identify internet domains that use cross-site tracking, and can subsequently block cookie access. It will also allow third-party apps to offer filters for content blocking. It should be noted though that the update isn’t fully available worldwide yet – version 19.0.1.2 is only available to select markets at the moment, although we should see more regional accessibility in the coming days and weeks.
