New Update Arrives for Galaxy S20 US Variants

0

If you still own (and regularly use) Samsung’s somewhat older Samsung Galaxy S20 flagship, then good news – a new software patch has arrived for the device via the latest October 2022 update, particularly for US variants of the phone.

The new update comes with software version number G98xU1UES3FVI6, and is now available for users in the US market. The new update brings some fixes for security and stability issues for the Galaxy S20, which was originally launched back in 2020. It came with a 6.2-inch AMOLED display, Samsung’s Exynos 990 chipset (Snapdragon 865 in some markets), 8GB of RAM, and a 64-megapixel main camera. The phone has since been succeeded by the Galaxy S21, S22, as well as the S20FE series phones.

With that said, Samsung’s pledge to commit to regular software updates has certainly been impressive, with older devices receiving new software patches regularly. While not all have received the latest Android 12 and 13 OS updates due to certain limitations, the phones have nonetheless been given monthly security and performance patches.

To check if your phone can download the newest update, simply head into Settings > Software Update > Download and Install to check if your device is eligible for the latest system update.
