Before TikTok, Vine was pretty much the de facto platform for short-form videos and was acquired by Twitter several years ago. The platform was eventually shut down, but it seems that Elon Musk might be keen on reviving it.
This is according to a poll posted on Twitter where Musk, Twitter’s new owner, asked his followers if they would like to see Twitter bring Vine back from the dead. At this time of posting, the poll has 69.5% of participants saying yes, and 30.5% saying no. That being said there is no guarantee that just because the majority say yes that Musk will bring Vine back.
Bring back Vine?

It will be interesting to see how Vine might perform in this day and age, especially since its demise, there have been plenty of other platforms that have filled its gap. TikTok is the most popular, but Google is attempting to steal some market share with YouTube Shorts, while Meta is also trying their hand at short-form videos with Instagram’s Reels.
We’re not sure with this stiff competition whether or Vine will be able to succeed and reclaim its former glory days, but perhaps it could offer creators a “fresh” start if they’re getting disillusioned by what’s already available to them.
