Xiaomi 12T series will be officially announced on the 4th of October

Last year, Xiaomi officially announced the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro smartphones. The handsets came with big and beautiful displays, along with a new 50MP camera sensor. If you liked what you saw in the Xiaomi 12 series, then perhaps its successor could be of interest to you.

Xiaomi has announced and confirmed that on the 4th of October, they will be hosting an event in Munich in which the Xiaomi 12T series will be officially launched. The event will be live at 1400 hours GMT +2 and will be watchable via a livestream on Xiaomi’s website, YouTube, Facebook, and more.

While the company stopped short of actually confirming the details of the phone, last we heard, the Xiaomi 12T could actually see an upgrade in the camera department where the 50MP main shooter could be replaced and upgraded to a new 200MP sensor. We expect that the new sensor will continue to adopt the pixel binning technology, but it should still result in some (hopefully) impressive photos.

Xiaomi also says that its event will cover more than just the Xiaomi 12T phones and will also see the company unveil new AIoT products. There has also been speculation that the event could see the launch of new Redmi earbuds and tablets, but we suppose we’ll have to wait until next week to find out.
