When it comes to gaming monitors, Samsung is no stranger on that front. Just earlier this year, the company announced the Odyssey Neo G8, and then the company followed up earlier this month with the massive 55-inch Odyssey Ark. Now it looks like they are back with a new monitor in the form of the Odyssey OLED G8.
As the name implies, this is a monitor that features the use of an OLED panel. The Neo G8 on the other hand uses a mini LED panel. The OLED G8 will also feature a 1800R curvature and boasts a refresh rate of 175Hz, making it ideal for people who want to game, although maybe not hardcore FPS gamers who might require even faster refresh rates.
It also has a response time of 0.1ms. The 34-inch OLED G8 will also feature a 3440×1440 resolution and according to Samsung, it covers 99.3% of the DCI color gamut. There are also features like AMD FreeSync Premium along with connectivity options like Micro HDMI 2.1 ports, Mini DisplayPorts, USB-C, and there are even built-in speakers.
Samsung has also built in lights on the back of the monitor that users can customize with Core Lighting+ and CoreSync which matches the lights to their in-game environment. Samsung does not mention how much the Odyssey OLED G8 will cost, but it is expected to be available globally in Q4 2022.
