YouTube Music listeners are in for a treat – YouTube’s very own music-streaming service recently introduced a “Summer Recap” playlist feature, where users of the app can take a look back at all the top tracks, artists, and albums that dominated their summer music sessions. in addition to the songs they’ve listened to the most, users can also access a list of stats and percentages based on their favourite genres.
As per the announcement on YouTube’s official blog page,
“Starting today, you can take a look back at the songs that defined your summer through Summer Recap, the latest installment of our personalized experience that provides you with a recap of your top artists, songs, albums and playlists from the last season. You can find your Summer Recap, along with a personalized Summer Recap playlist, in the Your Recap page in the YouTube Music app.”
In related news, YouTube recently announced that it will introduce some updates regarding user privacy, stating that it will no longer give users location-based music recommendations, and will delete YouTube Music data based on logged locations. The change won’t take place until September 26 however, although users can manually disable this feature on the app if they wish to.
