Last month, it was reported that for the Samsung Galaxy S23, Samsung could end up using the same telephoto camera as the Galaxy S22. It seems that we’re starting to see a pattern here because according to a report from GalaxyClub.nl, they have heard from their sources that the same can be said for the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The report claims that for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Samsung might end up using the same 10x telephoto camera found in the Galaxy S22 Ultra. For those unfamiliar, one of the features of the Galaxy S22 Ultra is its 10x telephoto camera with the “Space Zoom” features that allowed users to actually take snapshots of the moon where it looks decent and not some blob on your screen.
While we would have loved to see an upgraded telephoto camera on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, we can’t say that we’re too disappointed. As it stands, the 10x optical zoom is actually pretty rad and great for photographers looking to make tight shots or shoot from far away. For the most part we imagine that it should be more than sufficient for the average user.
That being said, this doesn’t mean that the rest of the phone’s cameras will be reused. Just last week we heard that the phone could come with a new 200MP main camera, so that’s pretty exciting. In any case, we’re still months away from Samsung officially announcing anything, so just take this with a grain of salt.
