How to chat or video call using Snapchat for web

0

Snapchat recently launched a subscription plan called Snapchat+ aka Snapchat Plus. It will offer experimental, exclusive, and pre-release features to paid subscribers. One such feature added to the plan is Snapchat for Web. It is a web version of the app and allows users to engage in chats and attend video calls even from their desktop or laptop.

Snapchat for Web further offers features like Chat Reactions and Chat Reply. All chats will get deleted after 24 hours, similar to how it works on the smartphone application. The team will add more features including AR Lenses in the near future.

Chat and video call using Snapchat for web:

  1. Open Snapchat for web by visiting web.snapchat.com on Google Chrome.
  2. Log in using credentials for the account that you want to use. You may have to authenticate your identity via two-factor authentication.
  3. You will be welcomed by Snapchat for web user interface as shown in the image below.

The left sidebar shows all your Snapchat contacts with the most recent chat at the top. Clicking on a particular contact will open the complete chat window in the center. It will also show buttons for audio and video calls for starting the desired calling type. The official announcement assures that all of your chats will get synced across devices. It is important to note that the feature is currently exclusive to Snapchat+ subscribers but will eventually expand to everyone.
