Unlocking the phone with the in-display fingerprint sensor is pretty incredible, but if you just want to see the time or other information that’s available on the lock screen without pressing the power button, you can enable double tap to wake. Simply go to Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures > Double tap to wake and toggle the feature on. Samsung doesn’t include double tap to sleep feature, so you will have to rely on the power button to turn the phone’s display off.
