LG V50 ThinQ might have just gotten its final update
LG has been in the smartphone business for quite a long time now. The company rose in popularity alongside other smartphone brands like Apple and Samsung way back in the day, so we imagine that it must have come as a shock to fans when the company announced that they would be exiting the smartphone business.
The good news is that despite LG being out of the consumer smartphone business, they haven’t forgotten about their customers yet. The company has pushed out what could possibly be the very last update for its LG V50 ThinQ smartphone with Android 12 now rolling out across its US models.
The update pretty much brings everything you might expect from Android 12, although there doesn’t seem to have any Material You changes to the UI, but it should help extend the phone’s life by another year or so. The LG V50 ThinQ was originally released back in 2019 and was the company’s first 5G smartphone.
This is also not the company’s first time pushing out updates for its phones despite them no longer being in the smartphone business, so we have to give them credit for not totally abandoning their customers. That being said, for those still holding onto their LG phones, it might be a good idea to start looking for a potential replacement because moving forwards, we probably shouldn’t expect to see further updates from the company.
